Capt.
Tommy Ziesmann

A native of Virginia
Beach, VA, Tommy traces his fishing roots to the lower Chesapeake
Bay where he chased striped bass, "gator" sized speckled trout,
cobia and "chopper" bluefish. After a four-year stint in the Army,
he returned to VA to continue fishing the bay and start fishing the
surf and blue water off Cape Hatteras, NC. To his credit,
Captain Tommy has tagged & released two red drum over 50 lbs.,
caught three bluefin tuna over 300 lbs.(tagged & released) , one
blue marlin over 500 lbs. and untold numbers of wahoo, tuna, marlin,
striper, cobia, trout, blues and various other saltwater gamers. All
the while working with the state of North Carolina's red drum
tagging program, the "Tag A Giant"
bluefin tuna tagging program, and the state of Virginia's striped
bass research program. A job transferred Capt. Tommy and
his wife to Naples, FL several years ago and after a year
there, they moved to St. Petersburg, FL where they now reside. Captain
Tommy has been a full-time guide for most of his working life,
specializing in light tackle and fly fishing, and for several years
now he has been spending 200+ days a year fishing the warm waters of
Florida’s West Central Gulf Coast. He has learned a lot in his
thirty-some years of fishing and is eager to share his knowledge and
experience. So, if you like rod bending, reel screaming saltwater
action, then captain Tommy is the guide for you!
